We’re delighted to welcome back Bernadette, Tick, Felicia and all the others in this new version of Priscilla Queen of the desert. With Priscilla The Party, while the story remains unchanged… or almost, it’s a new format that’s on offer.

The first pleasant surprise is the arrival on site. A first impression that delights us. As for the show, we’re still delighted by the colorful costumes and hundreds of improbable wigs. A new character makes her appearance, playing the role of mistress of ceremony with the provocation, wit and irreverence we’ve come to expect from drag-queens. We’re more than happy to welcome this new insolence in the person of Gaye Cliché.

This sexy ensemble, whatever your sexual orientation, is sure to turn up the heat. As well as dancing, he sings and moves the set blocks with great fluidity. Yes, the show moves in this immersive version. So don’t be surprised to find yourself right in the middle of the action.

One small adjustment to be made, in our opinion: we’d have liked Priscilla to have been a little more materialized, by adding wheels to the modules or a kitschy dashboard.

The musical side is respected, with live performances by the cast and an orchestra discreetly placed backstage. The hits that made you want to move to the musical are still with us, and others have been added in festive arrangements. In the « party » formula, there’s no question of curbing the urge to move. Invited to sit down, we couldn’t help but get up after a few moments and join the pit. Note that to get us moving, it’s not usually easy. Proof that the mayonnaise is working wonderfully.

The choice of three acts and two intermissions works very well. This gives us plenty of time to enjoy the performance as a whole. How could we resist the temptation of a Rainbow cake and other creative cocktails?

For once, as this is truly a complete experience, we can’t help but congratulate the entire staff on a level of service that exceeds all expectations. From the moment they enter the room to the moment they leave; every spectator is welcomed as they should be. Party, show, provocation, but chic all the same. Everything is done so that you don’t have to worry about a thing, so that the magic of the festive and queer atmosphere works in a fabulous way. Relax and let yourself go; Priscilla takes care of everything. And if you feel like it, at the end of the show, the party goes on with a DJ party that goes on until 4am!
